One size does not fit all

I'm 6'4 and the upper part of the splint attaches around my calf where the calf muscle is getting smaller, so it slides down my leg during the night. I adjusted the strap to the maximum length but still can't get the splint up near my knee where it won't slide down. If I tighten the attachment around my leg more, it is uncomfortable and feels like it is cutting off circulation to my lower leg. I'm planning to get rid of the strap that came with us and replace it with some bungee cord so I can attach the upper part of the splint higher where it won't slide down. The part that goes around my foot also tended to slide back from the ball of my foot up onto the arch. That was not a big deal but it did make for less of a stretch on the foot. It would be better if it was like a sock that went around the toes and heel so it stayed in place. I do think the splint helped during the time it stayed in place. The quality of the product is good.

made for people with bird legs

I bought this thing over the internet and was disappointed that the band that goes around the calf does not have elastic. This contraption is made for people with bird legs. I walk a good bit and my calves are not enormous but somewhat muscular and I could not get the band to fasten. Manufacuturers need to consider an elastic velcro band for the calf area or offer a larger size. This is not a one-size-fits-all product.

I bought it because I was continually finding reasons not to do the stretches my Doctor told me to do. I figured if I put it on before going to bed I'd get at least some stretching out of it before it fell off. To my surprise it stayed on! I removed it after an hour and the next morning I could get out of bed with hardly any pain. Now for the not so good parts. I am a big guy: 13 EEEE shoes, 17" calves, 6 foot tall. I had to put an extender on the calf band and the loop for the foot mashes my foot so an hour is all I can handle. My next modification will be a plastic 'spreader' for the bottom of my foot so the band does not squeeze, just pull. I ordered one for my sister and am awaiting her response. Really worth the money. (Spell checker kept hosing definetly to be rude/in your face/insubordinate :-))
