Although this is listed for 'heel' , would it work for malleolar (ankle protector when sleeping)? What is the fabric, is it reusable, Is it washable? How might I describe it?

The product would be more effective if I could tighten the straps before I go to bed. I can't bend down that far and when I get up during the night, the heel protectors slip off. They are very comfortable when I'm lying down.
