I would like to put this across my office that has a drop down ceiling. What is the process of installing this with a drop down ceiling. My office is 12 ft across, if I cut the bars will it still be functional? Thanks, Seth. Dear Seth, I am not certain what you are referring to when you say "cut the bar". The tracks would have to be screwed into the channels of your ceiling. The original installation of your ceiling grid would actually determine if the ceiling is strong enough to support the track.
