I can't remember how to remove the lockbox from the door knob and have misplaced the directions.

You have to enter the code you assigned to the lock box.

I need to reset the code. I do not remember what it was previously. Can this be done?

The code can be set to whatever you want, however if you have previously set the code from the inside of the unit and you have forgotten the pass code you created, there is no way of opening the lock from the outside to reset it. If there were, this system would not be very secure.
