The BreathXchange takes the cold out of the air! Using an advanced heat exchange technology contained in a small lightweight thermal conversion module called QXTEC, the mask captures the heat and water vapor lost during the normal course of breathing. As fresh air is inhaled, the QXTEC reuses your own warmth and water to turn cold, dry air into warm and moist air -- keeping you warm in even the coldest conditions. And all without batteries or electronics!
The mask itself is made out of soft, warm fleece and can be machine washed. The half mask wraps around your head, covering your ears but leaving the top of your head exposed. It is perfect for any outdoor activity that does not require exposure to the cold for prolonged periods of time.

How does the BreathXchange Mask work?
The BreathXchange mask contains a lightweight thermal conversion module that captures the vapor that is typically expended in the normal course of breathing. The module actually captures warmth when you exhale. As you inhale the cold air, the module gently warms the air returning heat into your body. This advanced technology allows you to constantly breath in fresh warm air while trapping moisture to keep your mask drier. How is the BreathXchange Mask cleaned?
The entire mask and heat exchange module can be machine washed in cold water on the gentle cycle and line dried. The module can be washed hundreds of times without deterioration, or harm. The fabric mask can be machine washed in cold water and line dried. We recommend washing the fabric in cold water to increase the longevity of the fleece.
Is the BreathXchange technology patented?
Yes. The QXtec technology and the device are patented. BreathXchange is a registered trademark.
I have a lung or heart condition and cold air triggers my symptoms. Is this a treatment to prevent symptoms?
This is not yet an FDA certified medical device. This is a cold weather product designed to keep you warm and comfortable just like gloves, hats and jackets. This device warms the air you inhale but should not be considered as a treatment that can replace medications for lung, heart or other medical conditions. Consult with your physician regarding the benefits of avoiding breathing cold air.
Does the facemask get wet and gooey and icy?
No. The module captures the water vapor and returns it to the air you breathe. The moisture management is handled by the heat exchanger - not the fleece. Breathing humidified air puts less stress on your body.
Is the desiccant safe?
Yes! The desiccant is bonded to the plastic and is not inhaled.
